The location where the State Philharmonic Orchestra operates is the Palace of Culture, built between 1911–1913 — a true emblem of Mureș architecture and an extremely attractive landmark for visitors from all over the world.

The concert hall of the Palace of Culture is the central, most imposing space of this Art Nouveau landmark. Rising through three levels, the hall dominates the building’s interior architecture and creates a grand, ceremonial atmosphere.

Its refined Secession-style décor, harmonious proportions, and exceptional acoustics offer a remarkable experience for both performers and audiences. The hall encircles the stage on three levels, further emphasising its monumental character.

The Concert Halls

Great Hall

The big hall with a capacity of ~800 seats is a real temple of music. The Symphony Orchestra rehearses here daily, and all symphonic, vocal-symphonic and organ concerts are held here. The Palace boasts one of the most famous organs in Romania.

The hall is one of Transylvania’s most significant concert venues, rising through three levels with extraordinary acoustics.

Small Concert Hall

The small concert hall, with over 200 seats, is the ideal space for chamber and choral concerts.

Both rooms have extraordinary acoustics and excellent conditions for performance and recording.
